Setting Up

Playability is absolutely key to any musical instrument
and each element of the set up requires care and precision.

Placing the same importance on all aspects of a set up, whether on a student outfit for a beginner, or a fine Italian violin for a professional musician.

Each element of the set up requires care and precision: The pegs, fingerboard, top nut, tailpiece, bridge, and soundpost; fitted well, will ease playability and optimise the best sound for each instrument.

A complete set up is not always needed of course.

So if you just have an annoying peg that keeps slipping on your instrument I would be more than happy to sort that too - no job is too small !

Although I no longer do bow repairs and rehairs, I can arrange for them to be carried out by a trusted colleague, if that is helpful.

I also supply and set up student violin outfits, complete with quality strings, rosin, bow and case.

I am happy to provide free estimates. All my work is guaranteed, and my premises and its contents are fully insured.
