About
My Story
I studied for a City and Guilds qualification in Musical Instrument Technology from 1987 - 1989. I had previously studied Art & Design, and trained for a Diploma in Wooden Boatbuilding.
From 1990 I was given regular work with Winchester Violins. Meeting the day to day needs of the music community was a very valuable experience. I was setting up, repairing and restoring a large range of fine instruments, including those for students.

From 1997, I started to undertake work for Oxford Violins: learning advanced restoration techniques from some of the best luthiers in the country.
Over the years, I have also carried out work for Philip Brown Violins, Morris and Smith, Amber Violins, Martin Swan Violins and Geoff Denyer Violins, amongst others in the trade. I also undertook 6 months work experience with J & A Beare and Sons.
